Rinse the asparagus under cold running water. Snap off the tough end of one spear, then line it up with the rest to cut off all their woody ends.

Heat up a big pan on medium heat. Toss in the butter, olive oil, and minced garlic. Stir it around for about a minute.

Throw in the asparagus, sprinkle it with salt and pepper. Stir it now and then for 5-7 minutes until it softens up and turns a rich green color.

Take the asparagus out of the pan and drizzle the garlic butter sauce over it before serving.
