In a big pan, warm up the butter over medium-low heat until it's melted.

Throw in the garlic, dried herbs, a touch of salt, and cracked pepper. Let it cook for about a minute, just until it smells nice.

Sprinkle the flour over everything and whisk it in well. Keep cooking for a minute to get rid of the raw taste.

Pour in the vegetable broth bit by bit while whisking so lumps don’t show up.

On low heat, let it gently simmer for a couple of minutes, stirring, until the sauce clings lightly to your spoon.

Mix in the heavy cream, parsley, and the Parmesan cheese, whisking until smooth and creamy.

Cook on low, giving it an occasional stir, until you’re happy with the thick texture. It should coat the spoon easily.
