Effortless Prosciutto Asparagus (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 pound of thick asparagus, washed and ends snapped off
02 - 3 to 3 1/2 ounces of prosciutto slices, sliced lengthwise into thinner strips
03 - 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil
04 - Black pepper, freshly ground as needed
05 - Optional: Lemon peel, grated
06 - Optional: Parmesan cheese, freshly grated

# Instructions:

01 - Cover a big baking sheet with parchment paper and keep it close by.
02 - Wash and dry the asparagus. Break off the tough parts at the bottom.
03 - Take the prosciutto strips and slice them in half lengthwise. Wrap one piece around each asparagus spear snugly, then lay them on the baking sheet.
04 - Drizzle about 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil over the asparagus and sprinkle a bit of black pepper on them.
05 - Cook the asparagus for about 8-10 minutes. It'll turn a bright green, the prosciutto will crisp up, and a fork will go through the asparagus easily.
06 - Move the cooked asparagus to your serving dish. If you'd like, sprinkle some grated Parmesan and lemon zest on top before serving while it's still warm.

# Notes:

01 - The saltiness in prosciutto means you won’t need to add extra salt.
02 - Got more people to feed? Use two large baking sheets to make a double batch.
