Cover a big baking sheet with parchment paper and keep it close by.

Wash and dry the asparagus. Break off the tough parts at the bottom.

Take the prosciutto strips and slice them in half lengthwise. Wrap one piece around each asparagus spear snugly, then lay them on the baking sheet.

Drizzle about 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil over the asparagus and sprinkle a bit of black pepper on them.

Cook the asparagus for about 8-10 minutes. It'll turn a bright green, the prosciutto will crisp up, and a fork will go through the asparagus easily.

Move the cooked asparagus to your serving dish. If you'd like, sprinkle some grated Parmesan and lemon zest on top before serving while it's still warm.
