Golden Air Fried Asparagus (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1/2 pound thin asparagus (or 1 pound thick asparagus, trimmed)
02 - 2 large eggs
03 - 3 tablespoons plain flour
04 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
05 - 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes
06 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
07 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
08 - 1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan
09 - 3/4 cup crispy panko crumbs
10 - Optional dip of your choice (to serve)

# Instructions:

01 - Thoroughly rinse the asparagus, pat until dry, and chop off the tough ends.
02 - In a wide bowl, mix together the eggs, ground pepper, garlic powder, flour, and salt. Blend until smooth.
03 - Grind parmesan, breadcrumbs, and red chilies in a food processor until just combined. Spread evenly on a dish.
04 - Roll each asparagus spear in the egg mixture first, then coat it evenly with the breadcrumb-parmesan mix. Set aside.
05 - Turn on the air fryer and let it preheat to 400°F, taking about 7 minutes.
06 - Layer asparagus pieces in the fryer basket without crowding them. Give a light spray of oil to help crisp up (optional). Cook for 6-8 minutes until they’re golden brown.
07 - Serve hot with your favorite sauce on the side, like marinara or ranch.

# Notes:

01 - Don’t stack the asparagus in the fryer. Keep them in one layer for the crispiest results.
02 - Thicker spears hold up better than thinner pieces when frying and cooling.
03 - Adding a spray of non-stick oil makes the coating extra golden, but feel free to skip this step for a no-oil version.
