Cheesy Baked Asparagus Side (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 pound (500 g) asparagus, trim off the tough ends

→ Condiments and Oils

02 - 3 tablespoons good-quality extra virgin olive oil

→ Spices and Seasonings

03 - 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
04 - 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
05 - 1 tablespoon garlic, chopped very small (about 4 cloves)

06 - 1 1/4 cups mozzarella, shredded finely

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 425°F (220°C) and get a baking sheet ready by giving it a light spritz of nonstick spray so things don't stick.
02 - Spread out the asparagus spears in one even layer on your prepped baking sheet. Leave it for now.
03 - Grab a small bowl and stir together the olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper until they’re mixed well.
04 - Pour the garlic oil mixture over the asparagus, making sure every piece gets covered evenly.
05 - Pop the baking sheet into the oven. Roast for about 10 to 15 minutes, checking for the asparagus to turn bright green and softened.
06 - When you pull it out, scatter the shredded mozzarella on top. Turn the oven to broil or grill mode and let the cheese bubble and brown, taking roughly 4-5 minutes.
07 - Taste it and sprinkle extra salt and pepper if needed. Serve it up immediately for the best flavor and texture.
