Fill a big pot with water and heat until bubbling over medium-high flame. Slowly drop each egg into the water using a holed spoon. Let them simmer for 7 minutes, keeping the water at a light bubble.

While eggs bubble away, pop bread in the toaster. After it's crispy, smash about ¼ avocado onto each slice. You'll find mashing helps it spread better.

Move eggs to cold water with some ice cubes and let them sit for about 2 minutes. Take off the shells and cut each egg into four pieces.

Set egg chunks on your avocado toast, one egg for each slice. Shake some salt and pepper on top. Finish with a drizzle of basil sauce.
